Spring is always a tricky time of year when it comes to wardrobe. One day it’s wet and blustery and all you want to do is cozy up next to the fire with your hoodie on, the next day the sun is out and your out at the farmers market picking out tulips. With the unpredictable weather, it is essential that you have a wardrobe that can transition seamlessly for these days. So before you pack away that winter wear, set these items aside and you will be prepared for anything!
The Blazer
An open blazer for a night out or a buttoned up suit look, you really can’t go wrong with either. I love blazers because they can make the most basic look so much more dressy. They come in so many different styles now-a-days [who else remembers back in the day when suits were only for business wo/men?] so it’s really easy to pair them with almost anything! My go-to for date night is a pair of skinny jeans, a lacy tank, heels, and a silk blazer.
The Wide Leg Trousers
These are my favourite transition piece. They are supppperrr comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I really like when they have stripes running down as it elongates the legs [and lets me honest, who doesn’t want longer legs?] I pair mine with flip-flops for a more casual running around look, but if you throw on a cute pair of wedges you can get away with going out to dinner in them, too!
The Denim Jacket
Everyone has a jean jacket in their closet. They never go out of style, no matter what shade of denim! It’s such a staple piece that is versatile and will never let you down. During the winter months you can wear it layered to keep warm. When the spring hits, that’s my favourite because you can throw it over a floral dress for an easy casual look. I like to wear it as an accessory! Denim looks great thrown over one shoulder for a photo shoot or wrapped around your waste like back in the ’90s. There is no wrong way to wear denim jackets and they don’t break the bank, give it a try! Sometimes you can find them in the second-hand store as well.
The Booties
Ankle Boots have been on-trend now for a few years, and I don’t think they are going away any time soon. They were my go-to this winter, paired with jeans and a tee, but don’t put them away just yet! They can easily be transitioned into Spring by wearing them with dresses, skirts, and even shorts! I love wearing them as a more boho-chic look, paired with cut-off jean shorts and a fringe top. You will notice on my instagram feed, I wear them all year long.
The Tote
I don’t go anywhere without my LV Neverfull Tote. It holds everything I need [and more] when going to and from work. It’s a great accessory to have with you if you carry layers for the unpredictable Spring weather.
Have the best week babes! I just booked my trip to New York with one of my girlfriends at the end of May and I couldn’t be more excited! If you have any tips or must-do’s and see’s let me know in the comments below!
