Happy Monday Y’all! I have been a little MIA lately, and to be honest it’s because I have been so busy at my 9-5 that I haven’t been able to spend as much time on the blog as I would like to. That being said, I did get some great content this weekend that I am excited to share it with you over the month of December! I thought I would ring in the Christmas spirit by giving you [my Vancouver followers] some of my favourite things to do around the city!
1.] Glow Christmas
This is what I have captured in my photos on this post, it is one of the most beautiful light shows I have ever been too –DEFINITELY worth the trek out to Langley to check it out. There are lots of food trucks to munch on mini doughnuts or popcorn, as well as a bar with some very cool glowing lightbulb cups [good for the kids AND us adults.]
2.] Vancouver Christmas Market
The Christmas Market is one of my favourite places during the month of December. It brings out the inner European in me. From some of the best Bratwurst to the scrumptious chimney cakes filled with Nutella. Oh, and let’s not forget the mulled wine [my personal fav.] The market has some of the best home made meals I have ever tried. There are also lots of cute shops you can pick up gifts for your family and friends. Make sure to bundle up for this one because it’s outside and can get quite chilly!
3.] Cirque du Soleil – Kurios
Concord Pacific Place has Kurios on till the end of December. If you haven’t been to a Cirque show, it’s an absolute must! I have been to many of them in Vancouver and Las Vegas, and I can say I’ve never been disappointed. It definitely keeps you on your toes throughout the whole show. To top it off, you have to go inside a big blue and yellow striped tent just like you would at a Circus!
4.] Festival of Lights
VanDusen Botanical Garden is worth seeing any time of the year, but especially during the Festival of Lights at Christmas time. The lights are beautiful and displayed throughout the different gardens and around the various ponds. Make sure you bring your camera, because there are definitely photo opportunities galore here!
5.] Robson Square Ice Skating
This one is self explanatory. Who doesn’t love skating during the winter? It is also a great one to do with the kids to get them out of the house on those cold winter days!
6.] Canyon Lights -Capilano Suspension Bridge
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is decorated with thousands of sparkling lights and is definitely a good spot to go for a date night. There is one of the most instagram-worthy shots walking across the bridge, you know, if your into that kind of thing… The good thing about this place is once you buy your ticket it’s good for one year. The Suspension Bridge is a fun place to visit at all times of the year!
7.] Grouse Mountain
Experience it all at Vancouver’s North Pole where you can stroll through the light tunnel, skate at the top of the mountain, meet real reindeer, ski/snowboard, and watch holiday movies on a big screen. Not only that, the ride up on the gondola has breathtaking scenery of all over Vancouver you won’t want to miss!
I hope this helps y’all if you are stuck on ideas of where to take your s/o out, or have kids that need to be occupied during the winter break! If you have any other ideas or have questions feel free to comment below or send me an email. I love getting feedback from you guys, it makes my job more fun!
