As many of you know, I have a little man in my life. We spend every single weekend together and the odd time we are alone [without his dad] I have to take advantage of it! So on Saturday he came with me and watched me get my nails done which, for some reason he was super intrigued by. Then we went for a quick lunch at Cafe Ca Va located in the heart of West Vancouver. They were so great in there, I ordered a mimosa and they offered to bring a ‘kids version’ of it as well. I don’t think I’ve seen a bigger smile when the champagne flute was delivered! The food was incredible. There are no other words to describe it other than to go experience the amazing tastes and quaint little space of this cafe yourself. It is a little bit on the fancy side, but well worth getting out of your sweat pants on a Saturday to go and check it out. After lunch, we went for a walk along the West Vancouver seawall, until we realized how cold and windy it was… let’s just say the walk didn’t last too long. The small amounts of time we do have together are the greatest. I swear he’s 16 at times, this ones way too smart for his nine year old self. See below for the smoked salmon meal served and outfit details.
I should add, I have never physically worn a fitted shirt until recently. I always felt super uncomfortable when sitting down, thinking people were staring at me and my not-so-flat stomach. That has always been such a big insecurity of mine. I have recently [within the last year] come to the conclusion that first, WHO CARES what other people think. Not everyone is going to like you. Secondly, as long as you feel good about yourself and you are healthy -that’s all that matters. Let me mention, not everyday is a good day! There are always going to be days when life gets the best of you and you start succumbing to those bad thoughts about yourself. Something that has really helped me is to literally say out loud how much you love the parts you may have always had issues with. It may sound funny the first few times but if you make it part of your daily routine it will start to feel normal and it will help!
