This past weekend, I spent my Saturday night at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel with my amazing man. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time and everyone treats you with such respect. Calling me “ma’am” and when I rang down to the front desk they answer with “Hello Miss. Ritchie, how can I help you?” these are small things, but to me it makes all the difference when it comes to the experience. Even when arriving, the bellman had my room keys ready to go as he unpacked my luggage and took my car away, I didn’t even have to check in! It was so nice to just walk into the hotel and go up the elevator to our amazing harbor view room! I would recommend this to anyone whether its a family get-away or a romantic weekend -it really was great!
I spent the part of the day shopping downtown, grabbed a few new pieces to add to my wardrobe [including some designer shoes, which I can’t wait to shoot] and then we headed out for dinner! Black+Blue is such a great place to enjoy a nice steak or even just to go to for drinks because the people watching is amazing. One of my favorites for sure! They have a steak showroom in the middle of the restaurant so you can see what you’ll be ordering. It was quite the experience, and the staff were all very friendly [the bar tender even took a shot with us because he forgot to bring one of our drinks!] it was a great night.
The next morning we woke up, got ready, packed everything up from our room [including the dog] and checked out. We went for Sunday brunch at Jam Cafe [if you have never been there, you are really missing out] it has the most amazing food and there is always a line up out the door. We waited 45 minutes to get in and it was worth the wait, let me tell you! The inside of it is so cute, all older items hung on the wall and a cute ‘table of elements’ all about food and drinks. You must check this place out if you are ever in Vancouver or Victoria! They even give out lollipops when you get the bill! How can you say no to lollipops?
